Yadro is going to make its own smartphones called Kvadra for Android

Yadro is a Russian company that wants to build its own smartphones. According to Kommersant, they will not only assemble foreign components, but also develop their own processors and printed circuit boards.

Yadro is part of the X-Holding companies and is already engaged in the sale of tablets and other electronics. According to Kommersant, the Squares will feature not only foreign processors and cameras, but also elements of their own production.

This information was also confirmed by the company itself, saying that even at the time of the tablet project, it was decided to develop smartphones. RISC-V is expected to be the main processors for development.

It became known that Yadro is looking for a Product Owner who will develop new devices to enter the market. One of the prerequisites is the work of the Product Manager on the output of laptops, PCs and tablets.

Kvadra tablets have arm processors and are based on Android Open Source.

According to some experts, the implementation of a fully domestic smartphone with processors and other components is an impossible task. At the moment, mass production of not only chipsets, but also batteries has not been established in the country. But the same experts are confident that if enough investments are attracted, then in three years Yadro will cope with setting up production.
