Removable battery packs will be back in fashion for Android

The highest political bodies of the European Union decided that it was time to give up the fashion for non-removable batteries and passed a law that all smartphone manufacturers should switch to removable energy storage by 2027.

Of course, this applies only to the European market, but it is strange to expect Samsung to make smartphones for different regions different. This law applies not only to phones, but also to all equipment that has a battery in it.

The new norm will definitely change the development of smartphones, because now all phones are made soldered, glued, monolithic sandwiches.

Such a solution will help to realize the reuse of smartphone components, which will reduce the impact on the environment. It will not be possible to achieve 100% recycling rates, but the European Union wants to get closer to such indicators.

It is not worth waiting for such a serious change this year. Most likely, we will see the first smartphone with a removable battery by the middle of 2024.
