The Aurora operating system is being tested in government agencies for Android

Smartphones and tablets that are used in government agencies now have a domestic OS Aurora. In addition, several dozen devices in the Federation Council are also testing domestic development. If the trial period is successful, the number of devices on this system will increase significantly.

As soon as Apple revealed that they were helping American intelligence agencies collect information about Russian diplomats, interest in domestic operating systems increased significantly. And the use of iPhone, iPad and other Apple devices is prohibited.

According to a source from the Federation Council, two of the most used types of devices were selected for testing — a tablet and a smartphone. They are mobile, convenient and most of the time are in the hands of the owners.

At the moment, the devices on Aurora only complement the existing foreign gadgets, again, if the tests are successful, then a total transition to Russian OS is just around the corner.

The active use of Aurora is now taking place in Russian Railways. It is installed on devices whose tasks include a mobile workplace, maintenance control and repair of communication facilities.

The Open Mobile Platform company, which belongs to Rostelecom, is developing the operating system.
