Vkontakte regains its mobile users for Android

MTS decided to conduct a small study on the number of users who are on social networks via the mobile Internet. Surprisingly, one of the most popular Telegram messengers lost the first place in the rating to the Vkontakte social network.

Back in February 2022, Durovs brainchild held a leading position in terms of the number of users in the territory of the Russian Federation. And in March, foreign users joined them, who also began to become active inside the Cart. As of July 2023, the situation has changed.

The share of people sitting on Vkontakte reached 33.1%, when the Telegram Operator lowered the figures to 32%. They were followed, of course, by Classmates who lured away as much as 20% of the entire Internet audience.

Although the number of users in the messenger has decreased, it remains the leader in terms of transmitted traffic, occupying all 60%. VK is satisfied with only 22%, and Classmates are 18.7%.

Viktor Kantor, director of the MTS Data Center, spoke on this issue, suggesting that the leadership of the Durov messenger is due to the fact that the platform is gradually developing into a social network with a large amount of entertainment content. Despite this, VK is trying to compete, taking leading positions in some indicators in 36 regions of the country.

According to Kantor, we will soon be watching a real battle for our user. Each side will try to keep its fans by adding new chips and constantly developing.
