RuStore will be pre-installed on smartphones in Russia for Android

The domestic app store will be pre-installed on gadgets coming to Russia. These rules were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers itself. Even if the copyright holders do not agree with this, RuStore will still be implemented as a similar service for downloading applications.

Manufacturers of mobile devices will be required to implement RuStore in such a way that it is displayed on the gadget screen in the same way as other pre-installed applications. Moreover, resetting the settings should not affect its performance.

The rule also prescribes the possibility of automatic updates and stable operation of the service. The full free version of the app store is also not excluded. There should be no payment from the user for using RuStore.

At the moment, the service is included in the list of mandatory installed applications in electronic devices of the 2023-2024s.
